Scientific writing and presentation training concludes

Geospatial Lab with a support from International Center for Integrated Mountain Development(ICIMOD) successfully organised two day(7-8 July) workshop on Scientific Writing and Presentation training here at Dhulikhel. The training meet the objective of

1. Distinguishing  scientific  research,  their  audiences  and  how  research  material  might  be  effectively presented.

2.  Preparing scientific and technical papers.

3.  Accepting  constructive  criticism  and  using  reviewers’  comments  to  improve  quality  and  clarity  of written reports.

The target audience was fourth year students who are in a process of writing their final year project report. The trainer for the two day session was Mahesh Raj Maharjan. His proficiency is  on masters and doctorate thesis writing and editing mainly related to social sciences. First day started with a opening remarks from Lect.Shasish Maharjan. He provided a brief introduction and need of scientific report writing.

On closing day’s second half session PHD candidate of Centre for Geo-Information, Wageningen University;faculty of Civil and Geomatics Engineering, Arun Pratihast, discussed about the practical aspect of scientific writing and relating it with Geomtics Engineering. Finally, Asst.Prof. Prachanda Man Pradhan, head of department of Civil and Geomatics Engineering, also discussed about do’s and don’ts of research writing.
